On Feb. 13, Larkin was driving the Route 348 on Northeast 185th Street at about 4 p.m. when he saw a man straddling the railing of the overpass above I-5.  Another bystander was attempting to talk the man down as traffic in the northbound lane of I-5 began to slow. When Lindol saw what was happening, he pulled his bus over, called 911 and then jumped out to help pull the individual off the railing. A few moments later, Snohomish County Sheriff’s Deputy Julie Jensen arrived and the three managed to hold the man until police arrived.

Sheriff Urquhart credits the trio for saving the man’s life and protecting drivers on I-5 who could have been injured or killed had the man jumped. Assistant Deputy County Executive Rhonda Berry, Metro General Manager Kevin Desmond and Department of Transportation Director Harold Taniguchi joined Sheriff Urquhart in honoring these individuals April 8 for their quick action.
